Dog Star Cabin derived its name from the Dog Star (more commonly known as Sirius), the brightest star in the night sky. The Cherokee Indians were the first known settlers of the area surrounding Dog Star Cabin. Sirius, the Dog Star, was extremely important to the Cherokee, and the “legend of the Dog Star" explains that if two people are separated by distance, each can view the star for a feeling of togetherness.  Dog Star Cabin is a special place to come and enjoy togetherness with your friends or family.
